Entitled My Beastly ABC's, Duncan Studio's new iPad app offers entertainment and learning on several levels including the introduction of multi-cultural mythical creatures, rich artwork, and a compelling story.

Duncan Studio (http://duncanstudio.com/) has operated out of its Pasadena, CA, location since 2007, partnering with some of the industry's most influential leaders to develop and produce 2D (hand-drawn), CG (computer-generated), and 3D stereoscopic animation. Most recently, its studio owner, world-renowned animator Ken Duncan, has directed some of his studio's resources toward the creation of a new, interactive storybook app.

"The iPhone/iPad app market is growing by leaps and bounds every day. I realized what a perfect time it was to rally our artists' many talents and create something truly special that would delight both adults and children," said studio owner Ken Duncan.

My Beastly ABC's will be comprised of 37 separate colorful scenes, each featuring a monster or creature from a different culture. Reminiscent of classic rhyming storybooks, the story will be further enhanced by the added elements of interactivity, movement, and sounds not possible with the ordinary book experience. The artwork will be released at the latest high resolution standard of 2048" X 1536."

"We wanted to find a story and medium that would not only teach children to read, but would also help them deal with everyday fears in inventive ways. We wanted to create something that felt magical," explained Duncan.

The story deals with a young boy whose dreaded daily routine spins toward the unexpected when, one morning, he rises from the "wrong" side of his bed. Over the course of the day, he finds himself confronted by fascinating mythical creatures from every corner of the world. As his adventure progresses, he begins to feel more at ease and befriends the creatures he encounters. By day's end, the boy returns to bed with a refreshing new attitude - and he now looks forward to experiencing whatever new adventures the next day may bring.
